Experience the world famous fishing grounds off the Karikari Peninsula with us. As often seen on TV. We can tailor-make your fishing charter from hunting down kingfish, trawling for kahawhi, snapper fishing and soft or traditional bait fishingtechniques.

Freespool is owned and skippered by your host Steve.

Steve has more than 10 years experience fishing the abundant waters of the Karikari Peninsula. He has caught, and released, a lot of fish and pleased a lot of amateur and experienced anglers.

A full safety briefing and instruction is given before departure.

Freespool is a new 7.3 metre alloy Scorpion boat powered by the latest 150 HP Johnson E-tec outboard engine, in current SSM survey for five persons plus skipper, Steve.

The boat has an enclosed wheel-house, cabin, toilet and CD player/radio.

A fishing trip will probably be a highlight of your stay. You may well see dolphins, orcas or the odd turtle. We can guarantee that you will catch fish and have a great day out on the clear blue waters around the Karikari Peninsula.

NO FISH - NO PAY

Our policy means that if someone doesn't manage to catch a fish, they don't have to pay for their share of the charter. (This policy does not, of course, include spectators on board).

All fishing gear, bait and fuel is provided. You can also bring your own rods, bait, drinks, lunch and water toys.

Diving, snorkelling, fun on the water with the kids and sightseeing trips are also available to your choice.

Mobile outboard repairs and servicing. Get your outboard serviced while on holiday at Rangiputa Retreat (or anywhere on the Karikari Peninsula).
